Wrinkle Relaxing using Botox® and Azzalure® - Treatment and Procedure
Rachel uses both Botox® and Azzalure® which are Botulinum toxins. The procedure is very simple and quick. It involves a series of small painless injections to temporarily relax muscles. After 14-21 days you can have a review appointment where any areas requiring more treatment can be topped-up.
What are Azzalure® and Botox® ?
Botox® and Azzalure® are purified proteins used to temporarily relax muscles, causing the softening of facial expressions and helping to reverse the signs of ageing.
When will I see the benefits?
Azzalure® and Botox® take between 2 to 3 days to start working but it can take up to 2 weeks to see the full effects.
How long will it last?
The effects usually last between 3-4 months. The more frequently you have the treatment the less often you will need it as over time the muscles automatically start to relax more.
What are the side effects?
Most people experience no side effects. Occasionally there may be slight discomfort on injections and there may be some bruising at the injection sites but this is rare.
Who can administer Botox® and Azzalure®?
It can only be prescribed and used by a healthcare professional, a dentist, doctor or prescribing nurse.
What happens at my review appointment?
You can be seen for a review after 2-3 weeks when any areas that need more treatment can be topped up.
Is it safe?
The active ingredient of Azzalure® and Botox® (Botulinum toxin type A) have been used cosmetically for over 10 years and has also been widely used for other medical conditions (IBS, Back pain. Migraines) for over 20 years. It is now one of the most used medical treatments available.
